Shattered Systems Drops Debut CD At Whisky A Go-Go Performance

Prog-metal artists and top-level Musician’s Institute students, collectively known as Shattered Systems, released their debut full-length CD at the Whisky A go-Go and Sonic mag headed down for the event. Sharing the stage with a host of warming artists, the stage slowly grew to a full house by the time Shattered Systems took the stage.

The nine-song CD, titled “A New Chapter,” includes an epic 18+ minute track (#8) that whisky the listener on a journey through modern metal and technical skill sets. On stage, the band offered the same, performing the majority of the album live with a few surprises.

The band has shared that they draw influence from music masters like Animals As Leaders featuring the unique styling of Tosin Abasi, and artists the likes of Dream Theater, easily recognizable by the way they write, play and record. This reviewer found them similar to early Ray Alder era Fates Warning.
